1990 Tokyo Petrus Magnum

1990 Tokyo Petrus Magnum Tasting at the Imperial Hotel

On September 29th, 1990, we tasted fifteen vintages of Petrus, the majority in Magnums from 1945 to 1986.

The wines tasted including individual tasting notes:

The absolute most outstanding wine was the 1945, superbe fruit and concentration. A large wine with almost jam-like concentration, yet balanced and almost dry finish. Closely after was the 1953, a bit more old leaves, humus and leather, and then the 1971, 1964 and 1970, but a bit ridiculous to single one, they all had their moment, even the 1954, but it did not last very long in the glass!
